Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains what FaceSort (“we”, “us”) collects when you use faceshort.pageworldwide.com and the FaceSort studio, why we collect it, and the choices you have. FaceSort finds the photos you appear in by comparing faces, so we explain the face data part in detail.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details. Your name, email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Sign in with Google. If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address and whether that email is verified. We use these only to create or sign in to your FaceSort account. We do not receive your Google password and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data.
  • Your face reference. When you add your face, we create a face reference from the photo you provide: a set of numbers (a face vector) that describes facial features. We use it only to find photos you appear in, inside groups you have joined.
  • Photos and videos. Photos and videos uploaded to groups by organisers, photographers and members, along with thumbnails and face crops made from them, and the face vectors detected in them.
  • Group activity. The groups you create or join, your role, people you name in a group, and share links you create.
  • Payments. If you buy a plan, payment is handled by Razorpay. We receive the payment status and reference, not your full card or bank details.
  • Technical data. A session cookie that keeps you signed in, your IP address for security and rate limiting, and basic server logs.

2. How we use it

  • To run your account and sign you in.
  • To detect faces in group photos and match them to people who have joined, so each person can see the photos they appear in.
  • To let group owners share galleries through links.
  • To manage plans, limits and payments.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not use your photos or face data for advertising, and we do not use them to train models or to identify you outside FaceSort.

3. Face data

Face matching only happens inside a group. Your face reference is compared with faces found in that group’s photos and nothing else. Group owners and members with access can see the photos you appear in within that group. You can remove your face reference at any time from your account, and matching stops for you straight away.

4. Who can see your information

  • Group owners and members can see photos in the group according to the access they were given. Partial-access members see only the photos they appear in.
  • Anyone with a share link can view that gallery until the link expires or is revoked. Treat share links like a key.
  • Service providers that help us run FaceSort: cloud hosting, private photo storage (such as Cloudflare R2 or Amazon S3), Google (for sign-in) and Razorpay (for payments). They process data only on our instructions.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

5. Storage and security

Photos are kept in private storage and are shown only through short-lived signed links after we check permissions. Passwords are hashed with scrypt, sessions use secure HttpOnly cookies and expire after 24 hours, and the face processing service is not reachable from the internet.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account and face reference while your account is active. Group photos stay until the group owner deletes them or the group. Share links last for the period the owner chooses. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account details and face reference, except where we must keep records (for example payment records) by law.

7. Your choices and rights

You can view and update your details, remove your face reference, leave groups and ask us to delete your account. You can also ask for a copy of your personal data or ask us to correct it. To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and other laws that apply to you.

8. Children

FaceSort is not meant for children to sign up on their own. Anyone under 18 should use it only with a parent or guardian’s permission. Event organisers are responsible for having consent to upload photos of children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app or by email.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy or your data: [email protected].
